3. Military Appreciation Concert (Sun 8/28)
Alyssa Martin as Dawn O’Day will perform a full set of WWII/1940s standards opening for the Yorktown Lions’ final summer concert: Military appreciation night with Class Action on Sunday, August 28, at the Jack Devito Veterans Memorial Field
in Yorktown Heights. Concert begins at 5 p.m. with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by her full set. Free.

4. Survive the Wild Camp (Mon 8/29)
Do your kids have a taste for adventure? Send them to Westmoreland Sanctuary to Survive the Wild. For those who love the outdoors, emergency preparedness and wilderness survival skills are essential. Activities include shelter building, knot tying, fire building, outdoor cooking, and orienteering. For kids age 7 and up. Cost: $85 for full day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or $50 for a half day (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
