Westchester Should Return Portable Bathrooms to Croton Point Park

I am writing to object to the recent removal of most of the portable bathrooms from Croton Point Park.

During the cold weather months when the permanent restrooms are closed, the park has always had at least six portable bathrooms spread throughout the park for the convenience of visitors. Earlier this month, all but two of the bathrooms were removed, apparently as a cost-cutting measure. At 508 acres, the park covers a large area and attracts numerous visitors in the cold weather months. Now, visitors will have to walk up to 20 minutes to find a bathroom, which due to overuse is now filthy and unsanitary.

As the current number of bathrooms are woefully inadequate for the large population of visitors, the Westchester County Parks Department should restore the units that were taken away. This would make visiting the park a much more pleasant experience when nature calls.
