Victoria K. Hammond, a longtime Ardsley resident, died peacefully on Sept. 26 at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Victoria was born July 9, 1940, in Greenwich Village to Amy (Torresi) and Joe Baranello. She was married to Robert H. Hammond for 32 years. Bob predeceased her in 1995. She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah, and brother-in-law David Shoby.

Vicki is survived by her three sons, Christopher, Matthew (Kathleen) and Robert Joseph (Dymphna Lynch), and her three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael and Grace Hammond. She is also survived by two bonus grandchildren, Sean and Mikayla Considine; her sister, Charlaine Baranello-Levy (Theodore); goddaughter Jennifer (James) Waters, and many nieces and nephews.

Vicki was a career teacher at P.S. 47 in Gramercy, working her way up to assistant principal. Vicki and Bob spent many years traveling, dancing and gathering with friends and family. Once retired, she enjoyed spending her days with her grandchildren and Sunday mornings having coffee with her friends from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Vicki spent the last two years living at The Club in Briarcliff Manor where she made many new friends watching movies and playing rummy cube.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a charitable donation to be made to the New York School for the Deaf.
