Two-Time Cancer Survivor to Headline Make-A-Wish Benefit Concert
Enjoy an evening of music and inspiration when singer/songwriter Charlie Scopoletti co-headlines with Duncan Sheik on the stage at Port Chester’s legendary Capitol Theatre. Two-time cancer survivor Scopoletti has helped raise over $100,000 for charities through his music. His recent single, “This Wish”, is a tribute to the Make-AWish Foundation and a song of hope to Wish Kids around the world.
Scopoletti will make his second appearance at the Capitol Theatre (149 Westchester
Avenue in Port Chesteron Friday, June 27 at 8 p.m., along with singer/songwriter
Duncan Sheik, known for his top 20 single “Barely Breathing” and Broadway sensation
“Spring Awakening” that won him two Tony Awards and a Grammy. The concert will benefit Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley and Make-A-Wish Connecticut with a portion of ticket sales going toward the mission of granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Originally diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at just ten years old, Scopoletti utilized music to aid his recovery. Later, while touring in 2006, he was diagnosed with Thyroid
Cancer. Scopoletti’s music draws from the unique perspective of someone who’s faced and overcome the challenges and adversity of dealing with serious illness.
Currently, he’s back in the studio recording his new EP “Today is the Day” with Robert L. Smith, Oscar-winning and Grammy- and Emmy-nominated Producer/Engineer/Mixer.
