Republican State Senator Greg Ball was one of nine officials sworn in at the Putnam County Swearing-In Ceremony Saturday. Ball, now a former assemblyman with his elevation to the Senate, beat Democratic Westchester County Legislator Michael Kaplowitz in the November election. Also taking the oath of office were Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, Assemblyman Steve Katz, Judge James Rooney, County Clerk Dennis Sant, county legislators Carl Albano, Tony Hay and Anthony DiCarlo and County Executive Paul Eldridge.
