Supervisor’s Stepson Charged with Forging Checks
The stepson of Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace was recently arrested for forging several checks belonging to a local business.
Henry Grace, 20, of Crompond, was charged August 31 by Yorktown Police with five counts of forgery in the second degree, a Class D felony, and was arraigned in Peekskill City Court before being remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Police received the forgery complaint on August 14. Following an investigation by Detective Timothy Tausz, it’s alleged between July 28 and August 6, Henry Grace forged a signature on unidentified business checks totaling approximately $760 and deposited them in an account.
Henry Grace was arrested in February 2012 by State Police for allegedly stealing a 2005 Pontiac G6 from the Kohl’s parking lot in Cortlandt. He was also charged by Environmental Conservation Police with criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
In May 2012, he was arrested again by State Police for allegedly stealing a 2006 Toyota Scion from a Yorktown home and leading troopers on a chase before crashing the vehicle in Shrub Oak.
