Just like finding a hairstylist or a nail stylist, you put your trust in a particular eyebrow expert. You want to find someone who knows your preferences and what will flatter your features, all while working with your skin type and eyebrow quality. However, there are different methods to styling eyebrows, and not everyone needs the same technique. With these brow experts, you’ll be sure to find the best match.
Microblading by Brows By Kara
Kara Righter has been a NYS licensed esthetician for over seven years, starting her business in 2015. Originally beginning with eyebrow shaping, she moved into microblading, and in 2017, she graduated from a specialized eyebrow school in 2017.
“I took what was taught to me and then adapted it to my own way and style of microblading,” explains Kara. “I call it natural microblading.”
Instead of producing a stencil-like or makeup-enhanced look brow, Kara uses a technique where she uses the finest sized needles to match hair strokes. This way when it heals, it looks as close to natural eyebrow hair as possible. It reveals the clients’ own eyebrow, “but better.”
Microblading is for those with any eyebrow hair type, and Kara offers free consultations to show her work in person along with videos and photos of before and after. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours for a full appointment. Then in 4-6 weeks, you’ll need a touch-up. Once complete, the microblading can last one to three years depending on the skin type.

Brow Shaping By Kandes Ross
As a licensed Esthetician for nine years, Kandes knows how to provide more than just a basic wax.
“Eyebrows are an incredible beauty asset,” begins Kandes. “So my goal is to help clients reach their full potential.”
Breaking away from the typical salon lifestyle, Kandes started her own company in March of 2020, right before the pandemic hit. But her talent and perseverance enabled her to become the successful businesswoman and eyebrow expert she is today.
Starting with a thorough consultation, she designs an eyebrow shape based on brow mapping and a facial analysis technique. The outcome is well-defined, groomed eyebrows that bring balance and symmetry to your face.
This can be from waxing, tweezing, tinting, or a combination. And coming soon: permanent makeup!

Ombre Brows by Beautifeye Beauty
Newer to the brow game, Linda Nguyen began her beauty career about two and a half years ago in California. She has a cousin there who is known for doing ombre powder brows, inspiring Linda to get into the business.
Linda took it upon herself to learn and train in California, and then six months into the business she flew over to the east coast and landed in Connecticut, opening her business in New York. She first opened up in New Rochelle in 2019, and then came to Mamaroneck in 2020.
“I never thought I would be in the beauty industry,” enlightens Linda. “My mom had her own nail shop. I used to do artsy stuff with the mannequins and wanted to be crafty with eyebrows instead. It all came full circle. I love the creative aspect.
The ombre technique was very popular on the west coast but is not as well known on the east coast.
“It’s more than just penciling in,” describes Linda. “Ombre is the transition from light to dark. You use a microneedle, dip it in the ink, and implant pigment into the skin at a steady speed.”
There is a powdery effect when it heals, and the powder doesn’t go as deep so it’s not as scary.
Ombre is a semi-permanent procedure, and since brow styles are always changing, it’s a great method to roll with the punches.

Brow Henna by Pristine Brows & Beauty
Owner of and Master Brow Artist at Pristine Brows & Beauty, Christine Behmer, has a passion and obsession for eyebrows. She has been a NYS Licensed Cosmetologist for over 10 years, and in the last 4 years has become a four-time Certified Permanent Eyebrow Artist and NYS Licensed Tattoo Artist.
With all this know-how, she opened her business four years ago to give women a place to have the ultimate eyebrow experience.
“My goal is to understand your ultimate brow goals and help you achieve them through my recommendations for the best services to get you your dream brows while providing an elevated customer service experience,” states Christine.
The business also added Brow Henna to their services, which is a newer but very popular technique. In addition to tinting your brow hair for 4-6 weeks like a traditional brow tint, brow henna also stains the skin underneath your eyebrows for 1-2 weeks, providing that “filled in makeup” look.
There are six different colors ranging from blonde all the way up to black and they can all be mixed and matched to customize the perfect desired shade.

Eyebrow Threading at Jolly’s Threading & Waxing Salon
This family salon is locally owned with a team providing over a decade’s worth of experience in the brow industry. If you’re looking to feel glam without breaking the bank, the salon also features a level system that helps cater to any client on a beauty budget.
Their threading technique practices the shaping of your eyebrows by following your natural bone structure. Threading is a hair removal technique that uses a cotton thread that twists along the skin, removing hair from the follicle.
It’s perfect for those looking to thin their brows without using any harmful products, a great alternative to waxing. That also means it’s great for sensitive skin types.
Walk-ins are welcome to stop in during their work hours, operating seven days a week, and the salon is set up for multiple clients at a time.
