Stabbing in Pleasantville Leads to Arrest
Reza A. Daneshvar, a 21-year old Briarcliff Manor resident, was arrested and charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, a Felony, after allegedly stabbing a 20-year old Briarcliff Manor resident in Pleasantville on Wednesday morning.
At 2:18 a.m., the Pleasantville Police received a call from the Briarcliff Manor Police in reference to a stabbing victim at Phelps Hospital. Responding officers determined that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Pine Street in Pleasantville and immediately opened an investigation. After the preliminary inquiry, Pleasantville Detectives were notified and continued the investigation.
Detectives were able to identify Daneshvar as a suspect in the assault after conducting multiple interviews. It is believed that the incident occurred as the result of a dispute between acquaintances.
Daneshvar is being held on $5,000 bail and is due back in court on November 29. The victim remains at Phelps in serious condition.
Police are continuing to investigate.
