ShopRite in Carmel to Host Food Drive
The Rotary Club of Carmel and ShopRite in Carmel will hold a two-day food drive this weekend, collecting non-perishable food outside ShopRite from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Volunteers will collect items from shoppers and at the end of the weekend distribute the items to the food pantries at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Brewster, the Putnam Community Action Program in Brewster, Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel and St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac.
There will also be live entertainment. The Kerry Kelly Irish Step dancers will perform from 11 a.m. to noon, Brewster High School student Mark Stein will give a juggling demonstration from noon until 1 p.m., and the Carmel High School Jazz Band will play from 1 to 2 p.m.
