School Budgets in Putnam County Results

Throughout Putnam County Tuesday night, all six school districts got its budgets approved.

The Mahopac school district got its budget passed easily with a 1,461-740 vote and also got its proposition B passed that would result in school bus and/or van.

In the Carmel school district, which faced a difficult budget season, voters still came out to support it. The margin was relatively close compared to other school systems with 987 voting in favor and 637 voting against.

As for the Haldane school system, which also had a tough budget season, voters approved the budget by 607-182 margin and also two propositions, which include $150,000 for a new bus and minivan and another proposition to create a repair reserve account that would be funded by the turf use fees.

The Brewster school district got an overwhelming nod from voters with 1,070 voting for the budget and only 497 voting against. In the Putnam Valley school district, voters OK’d the budget by a 716-226 margin. And the Garrison school system also got approval for its budget with a 357-140 margin.

The most watched vote, which occurred in Mahopac, has yet to be released as of late Tuesday night.
