Regina “Jeanne” Miranda of Valhalla died peacefully on the morning of Nov. 27 at the age of 88.
Jeanne was born on Dec. 21, 1935, in Brooklyn to the late Anna and Alexander Rogers. Jeanne grew up in Queens with her younger sister, Anita, and worked as a registered nurse for many years prior to marrying her husband, Joey, on Dec. 26, 1964.
Jeanne loved to sing and play the piano and was an active member of the church choirs at both Holy Innocents and Holy Name of Jesus. She was also a huge animal lover who enjoyed volunteering, baking, sewing, water aerobics and spending time with her family. Jeanne will be remembered by all for her sweet, gentle and loving nature.
She was predeceased by her husband and her sister and will be dearly missed by her surviving children and grandchildren.
Family and friends honored and remembered Jeanne’s life by gathering for a visitation on Dec. 4 at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Her funeral Mass was held on Dec. 5 at Holy Innocents Church in Pleasantville. An entombment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
