Reader Views: Costs Too High for Veterans Cemetery
On reading the article about Senator Ball’s promotion of a cemetery in Southeast (your issue July 26 – August 1, 2011), I have to mention that as a fiscal conservative he should only be focused on spending that will enhance the quality of life in Putnam County which would include anything that would create jobs, healthier lifestyles or education. As I see it, a cemetery will not do that and even in the best of times, this particular project carries too high an annual price tag of over $400,000.
