Putnam Sheriff’s Office Investigating Armed Robbery
A gas station in Southeast was reportedly robbed last week, and sheriff’s investigators are investigating the crime, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
The department, along with state troopers, responded to reports of an armed robbery at the BP on Route 22 at around 4:30 a.m. on May 21, the sheriff’s office reported. An individual in black attire entered the station armed with a handgun, pointed the gun at an attendant and demanded money, the attendant reportedly told investigators. He obtained a quantity of cash and got into an awaiting car, which was last seen heading north on Route 22, according to the sheriff’s office. The attendant was not injured.
