Putnam Human Society in Website Contest
There are a variety of ways to contribute to the mission of the Putnam Humane Society in Carmel.
You could contribute finically or, of course, adopt a pet.
From Sept. 1 through 6, residents will have a new way to help out –they can vote on their computer.
The Putnam Humane Society has been chosen as one of the four national finalists in a competition in which the winner will receive a new website for free, Stephen Reid, a member of the organization’s board of directors, said on Aug. 29.
Votes for the winning non-profit animal rescue organization can be made at FACEBOOK.com/GildayCreative.
The contest for animal shelter and rescue organizations is being sponsored by Friend of Finn Animal Rescue Website Giveaway and the winner will receive a website designed by Gilday Creative, which is located in Kingston.
As stated on its website, Friend of Finn was created in honor of Finnegan, a dog who lost a battle with an aggressive bone cancer.
Reid said a revamped website would be a boost to the Humans Society. “It’s a great opportunity to give us more exposure,” he said. The new site would also allow his organization to reach additional potential adopters and increase the search engine optimization above what is currently available, he said.
The Putnam Humane Society is located at 68 Old Route 6 in Carmel. For more information, call 845-225-7777.
