New Castle Police Department

Oct. 22: Officers responded to a Chappaqua residence on a report of a verbal domestic dispute between a mother and son. After officers arrived on the scene, they were able to mediate the situation. The incident was documented.

Oct. 25: Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Sarles Street. According to a witness, a black SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with two loose dogs that were in the roadway. One of the dogs died as a result of the collision and the other is in serious condition. The driver of the black SUV left the scene. Anyone with information is urged to call the department at 914-238-4422.

Oct. 28: Two Chappaqua men, Giuseppe Ciaramitaro, 49, and Yessenia Ciaramitaro, 51 were arrested for first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Police investigated an underage drinking party at about 9:52 p.m. on this date after an anonymous caller reported a party on Walden Hill. Upon arrival, officers observed what appeared to be dozens of cars and hundreds of high school-age youths with various types of alcohol. Two 16-year-old female partygoers were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for care related to intoxication. Both parties were processed and released pending an appearance ticket in Town Court on Nov. 16. The investigation is ongoing and there may be additional charges. North Castle Police Department

Oct. 24: Report of a state trooper that was in pursuit of a vehicle that failed to comply while traveling northbound on Old Route 22 at 12:04 a.m. The vehicle was described as a blue 2021 Tesla with New York plates. The Real Time Crime Center confirmed the same information over its hotline. The operator was ultimately taken into custody and the operator was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Oct. 24: An e-911 caller stated at 10:33 a.m. that he is a staff member at the Jenny Clarkson facility on Old Orchard Street and is trying to locate a student who went AWOL. She was last seen in the area of Park Lane in Harrison. The party is described as an 18-year-old Black female about 5-foot-7 in height. Officers responded and reported that the party was transported to White Plains Hospital with BLS on board.

Oct. 24: A Spruce Hill Road resident report at 10:35 p.m. that a lithium battery began smoking and caught fire in her son’s room. The call was transferred to 60 Control. The responding officer reported that the battery was brought outside and that the fire was contained and extinguished. Firefighters ventilated the interior. One party is being transported to Northern Westchester Hospital. HAZMAT responded and cleared the battery from the scene.

White Plains Police Department

Oct. 25: Police arrested a 47-year-old Elmsford man after receiving several reports of a suspicious vehicle covered with hate speech at 10:23 a.m. Officers stopped the vehicle bearing an Arizona registration at South Lexington Avenue and Quarropas Street. The vehicle’s license plate had apparently been illegally altered and the vehicle also had writing painted across the entire windshield obstructing the driver’s view. Investigation revealed the license plate to be a forged instrument. An inventory subject to the vehicle being impounded revealed a handgun and several Arizona license plates and a New York license plate. The suspect was booked and processed for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was also issued a traffic summons for the violations.

Yorktown Police Department

Oct. 26: Police received a report of an alleged shoplifter from Macy’s at the Jefferson Valley Mall at 5:51 p.m. After an investigation, it was revealed a 61-year-old Beacon man was in possession of stolen merchandise from Macy’s and Lens Crafters and was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. He was arrested and charged and remanded to Westchester County Jail.
