County Police/Mount Kisco

Oct. 28: A 48-year-old Ossining man was charged at 1:53 a.m. with DWI, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a violation. An officer on another call on the 200 block of Main Street observed the man back into a parked car and then drive away. The officer made a traffic stop on West Hyatt Avenue, where the driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a Nov. 7 appearance in Village Court.

Oct. 29: A resident reported at 11:14 a.m. that someone attempted to use three credit cards in his name at stores in Mount Vernon. The man said he was expecting the cards to arrive by mail when he learned of the attempted fraud and canceled them.

Oct. 29: The owner of a South Moger Avenue business reported at 12:54 p.m. that someone vandalized the front door lock sometime after the business closed at 6 p.m. the previous day. An officer was unable to locate any security video that captured the incident. The owner verified that no property had been taken from inside the business.

Oct. 29: Staff at a Lexington Avenue laundromat reported at 3:56 p.m. that a card machine had been damaged. It is unclear when the damage occurred.

Oct. 30: A North Bedford Road business notified police at 12:48 p.m. that it was having a vehicle towed that had been left without permission on its property. It provided the make, model and license plate of the car in case the owner contacted police in an effort to locate it.

Oct. 31: A 66-year-old woman arrived at the Green Street precinct at 7:37 p.m. to report that she had been evicted from her residence in Bedford and had nowhere to stay for the night. An officer was able to make arrangements for temporary shelter and notified the Mobile Crisis Response Team to follow up in the morning with her to provide additional assistance.

Nov. 1: A Chappaqua resident reported at 10:34 a.m. that her car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while it was parked in the village the day before. The resident said she discovered the damage after arriving home the previous night. She said she had parked near Target on North Bedford Road and in the Blackeby lot while shopping and was uncertain where the damage had occurred.

Kent Police Department

Oct. 24: Patrol observed a vehicle operating erratically on Route 311 at 10:25 p.m. and a traffic stop was initiated on Terry Hill Road. The vehicle failed to comply with patrol’s emergency lights and sirens. Eventually the vehicle was stopped with assistance from Carmel police, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and state police. After a field sobriety test was administered, a 40-year-old Carmel man was arrested for DWI and transported to headquarters without incident. He was also charged with reckless driving, possession of a forged instrument and unlawful fleeing from a police officer in a motor vehicle.

Mount Pleasant Police Department

Nov. 1: A Swanson Drive resident reported to police at 8:05 p.m. that they believed someone was breaking into their next-door neighbor’s house. Responding officers set up a perimeter on Swanson Drive, and a short time later observed two males leaving the residence who attempted to flee from police. Both men were caught by officers and taken into custody. The suspects, ages 29 and 46 and both Colombian nationals, were charged with second-degree burglary following their arrests and were taken into custody by the Westchester County Department of Corrections. One suspect was transported to Westchester Medical Center for injuries he sustained while fleeing police. Mount Pleasant police were assisted by officers from Pleasantville, Greenburgh and the county Department of Public Safety.

New Castle Police Department

Oct. 26: Report of a domestic dispute at a Chappaqua residence between a female and her live-in boyfriend. Officers mediated the verbal dispute and the incident was documented.

Oct. 28: Report of a domestic dispute between a father and daughter in the area of Quaker Road and Marcourt Drive. The verbal dispute occurred while the two were driving. The daughter was transported to police headquarters where she was picked up by her mother. The incident was documented.

Oct. 28: Police received a complaint of several political signs being removed from lawns on King Street. The investigation is ongoing by detectives.

Oct. 30: Police responded to a Millwood residence on a report of a verbal domestic dispute between a father and son. Officers arrived on the scene and mediated the situation. The incident was documented.

Oct. 30: Police responded to a local establishment on a report of a dispute between two females. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with one of the females involved. She reported that her laptop was broken by the other female, who left the area. Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on the other female involved, who was subsequently arrested for second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony. She was arraigned in the Town of New Castle Justice Court and released on her own recognizance.

North Castle Police Department

Oct. 25: A female employee at Wine Geeks on Main Street reported at 5:52 p.m. that a white male about 28 to 30 years old with a beard and wearing neon orange became belligerent when he asked store patrons for money and was denied. Officers responded and located the party near the Town Center. The subject checked okay and was sent on his way.

Oct. 26: White Plains police reported a brush fire in the area of the Kensico Dam at 6:23 a.m. An E-911 caller then reported it to be in front of the community center; 60 Control was notified. The responding officer confirmed a large brush fire in the area. He later reported that the fire had been extinguished; all units back in service.

Oct. 28: A complainant reported arriving at his Grove Road residence at 8:53 a.m. and observing damage to his basement window. The complainant stated that he believes that someone may have tried to enter his residence. The responding officers secured photos of the damage.

Oct. 29: A caller reported at 6:03 p.m. that she and her boyfriend were involved in an accident with another vehicle on North Broadway. The caller is pregnant and the other motorist is irate, yelling and screaming. The caller stated no ambulance is required because there are no injuries. The irate motorist is in a black Honda Civic. The responding officer canvassed the surrounding area but was unable to locate the incident. The call was referred to the Mount Vernon Police Department based on call location data.

Nov. 2: Police received multiple E-911 calls at about 7:55 a.m. reporting a motor vehicle accident on Route 22 between Old Orchard Street and Westlake Drive. Responding officers found two vehicles were involved in the crash, including one motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 64-year-old Francisco Rosello, was killed in the accident. The matter remains under investigation by North Castle and Westchester County police.

Pleasantville Police Department

Oct. 28: Report of political signs having been stolen from a property on Broadway at 3:34 p.m. An investigation is continuing.

Oct. 29: Three political signs were reported stolen at 8:37 a.m. from the front yard of a Bedford Road residence. An investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 30: A caller reported at 4:42 p.m. that the back windshield of their vehicle was broken while parked on Marble Avenue. Police are investigating the incident.

Yorktown Police Department

Oct. 24: A 34-year-old Shrub Oak man was charged with petty larceny following a report of a man hiding behind a rock wall at 3:26 p.m. When the officer approached, the man walked away quickly, ignoring commands to stop and dropped a bag. The discarded bag contained numerous items that were later determined to have been stolen from Acme Markets. The subject was located in Peekskill and placed under arrest.

Oct. 28: Police had responded on Oct. 6 to a report of a large fight between two opposing soccer teams at Navajo Fields. Multiple officers responded to the scene and completed an investigation. It is alleged that two Yorktown men, ages 24 and 40, punched the same victim in the head during the incident. Criminal summonses were applied for and the two men were arrested at 5:45 p.m. this date and charged at police headquarters with second-degree harassment.
