County Police/Mount Kisco
Dec. 6: A 36-year-old Bedford man was charged at 1:50 p.m. with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was taken into custody following a traffic stop in the Kirby Plaza parking lot after driving away from the scene of a minor accident nearby. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending an appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court. He was also issued a summons for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a violation.
Dec. 8: An officer responded to the Northern Westchester Hospital garage at 10:29 a.m. on a report of a verbal altercation between two people. Upon arrival, the officer was advised by a motorist that another man had screamed at him and punched the window of his vehicle, though no damage was caused. An officer canvassed the garage but could not locate the other party involved in the dispute.
Dec. 11: Officers responded to Maple Avenue at 5:40 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute between a man and his girlfriend. After speaking with both parties, it was determined that the dispute was verbal in nature only. The woman told officers she would stay elsewhere for the night to defuse the situation and left the residence.
Dec. 12: A 6-year-old boy suffered a foot injury when he was struck by a car at 8:09 a.m. on Main Street near the Boys & Girls Club. The driver of the vehicle, a black Honda CR-V, initially stopped but then drove off when the boy’s grandmother approached his car. The youth was evaluated at the scene by Westchester EMS and transported to Westchester Medical Center by Armonk ambulance. Patrol officers obtained video of the suspect vehicle from several locations on Main Street and South Bedford Road. The matter was turned over to detectives for continued investigation.
Dec. 13: An officer found a 22-year-old Bedford woman asleep outside the Green Street Precinct at 6:18 a.m. The woman, who reported she had spent the night in Mount Kisco, said that she had no money for a taxi to get home and that family members were not answering their phones. Due to the extremely cold temperatures, an officer drove the woman home to ensure her safety.
Dec. 13: Officers and detectives responded to a Moore Avenue apartment at 9:30 a.m. on a report of an 80-year-old woman who was found deceased. It was determined that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, which was of apparent natural causes.
New Castle Police Department
Dec. 11: A Chappaqua resident reported that a package that was delivered was unlawfully removed from their property by an unknown suspect. The incident is being investigated.
Dec. 11: Police responded to a Chappaqua residence on a report of a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The female party was intoxicated and the male party left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. No crime was committed and the incident was documented.
Dec. 12: Numerous residents in the area of Random Farms Drive reported that mail was unlawfully removed from their mailboxes. New Castle detectives are investigating with the assistance from the United States Postal Service.
North Castle Police Department
Dec. 6: An Upland Lane resident reported at 9:23 a.m. there is damage to his property from a vehicle that fled the location after hitting a rock. The responding officer filed a report.
Dec. 6: Report of a school bus that was rear-ended on Route 22 at 11:34 a.m. The responding officers confirmed there were no injuries at the location. The bus was removed from the scene by Armonk Garage. Students were transported back to H.C. Crittenden Middle School.
Dec. 7: A complainant arrived at headquarters at 12:24 p.m. to report fraudulent charges to her Etsy account.
Dec. 8: A complainant on Overlook Road North reported a minor dispute with her neighbor at 3:19 p.m. The resident stated that her neighbor continues to walk his dog on her property, allowing it to defecate on it and not picking up after the dog. The responding officers reported speaking with both parties involved and observed no dog feces on the complainant’s property.
Dec. 9: A caller reported returning to her Washington Avenue residence and finding her dog deceased in the residence at 1:31 p.m. She is requesting a report based on a previous incident. The responding officers files a report.
Dec. 9: Report of an object in the roadway obstructing traffic on Main Street at 7:34 p.m. The responding officer reported removing a bag of leaves to the side of the roadway. The North Castle Highway Department was notified.
Pleasantville Police Department
Dec. 7: An older woman reported to headquarters at 5:51 p.m. stating that she had bought a shotgun but no longer wished to own it. The woman surrendered the firearm to police.
Dec. 12: Village of Pleasantville personnel reported that they were making a deposit at a bank in the jurisdiction and were told by the bank that a $20 bill was counterfeit.
Dec. 13: Village personnel reported that there was some minor damage to a fire hydrant on Bedford Road at 6:52 a.m., appearing to have been struck by a vehicle. Officers on patrol noticed a car parked at a nearby residence that had damage consistent with possibly having struck the hydrant. The resident stated that he was involved in a mishap the previous evening but didn’t believe he struck the hydrant and was able to drive home. He was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
