Yorktown Supervisor Race Begins
The Yorktown supervisor’s race is turning into a potential 3-way dance.
Former Supervisor Don Peters, a Democrat, announced his plan to run for town supervisor in November, while Joseph Visconti, a Republican, announced he is forming an exploratory committee and will make a formal announcement about his candidacy in February. Susan Siegel, the current supervisor who was elected in 2009, said she intends to run for another term.
“There’s a lot of things I want to finish that I started,” said Peters, who served as supervisor from 2007 to 2009.
Siegel said she looks forward to the challenge and thinks she has gotten off to a good start as supervisor.
“I have a lot more work to do,” Siegel said.
Visconti, who is president of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce, said he thinks his experiences in business would serve the town well.
