Peekskill Winter Parking Regulations in Effect
Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen announced Sunday the suspension of the alternate side of the street parking rules in the City of Peekskill has been lifted effective immediately and winter parking regulations will now be enforced.
Johansen said this was done following a discussion with the Director of the DPW and after carefully looking at several forecasts, some of which are calling for measurable snow and/or sleet tonight into tomorrow morning.
The goal of the winter parking ordinance is to allow for the efficient and safe removal of snow and ice from city streets following winter storms and this can only be done with the cooperation of all motorists who we hope will get in the habit of parking on the proper side of the street for the remainder of the winter.
Detailed winter parking rules as well as a map detailing regulations for each city street can be found by visiting the City of Peekskill Website at www.cityofpeekskill.com.
