Peekskill Warming Center to Open
Due to the extreme cold that is forecast for the next several days, the City of Peekskill will be opening a warming center at the Neighborhood Center located at 4 Nelson Avenue. The warming center will be open Thursday, December 15 until 8 p.m., Friday, December 16 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday, December 17 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Peekskill residents who require overnight accommodations may seek assistance at the Jan Peek Shelter. During this period of extreme cold, people are reminded to check on family members and friends, especially the elderly; and to keep their pets indoors.
