Park Ford Champions for Mahopac-Carmel Chamber
Richard D’Andrea and his business, Park Ford, are passionate about the Mahopac community and showed its commitment by recently by becoming a supporting member of The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce’s champion program.
“I have always contributed to the chamber in many different ways with individual programs and events. I have sponsored the street fair, business expo, safe Halloween and scholarship,” D’Andrea said. “I feel the new spirit that I have witnessed over the last six months with respect to the focus from the volunteers on the Chamber Board of Directors has encouraged me to support the organization in a major way.”
Becoming a member in the champion member program provides an opportunity for a business to get year–round recognition for showing its financial support to The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce. Chamber members can join the champion program for as little as $1,000.
D’Andrea presented the Chamber Chairman Bill Zacotinsky with a $3,000 check at the breakfast meeting that was held at the newly renovated Park Ford building on Route 6 in Mahopac, which is finishing their renovations to the face of the building and adding on a new three-bay state of the art service center to the facility.
“Richie has always been a large supporter of the Chamber, both financially and with his time. We are very pleased that he has noticed the new dedication and energy of our board,” Zacotinsky said. “Membership in the champion program brings a large amount of benefits and recognition for a one-time fee. Our new programs were created so that any size business can participate.”
Since joining the chamber in 2001, D’Andrea has been an active participant and understands the value in being a chamber member.
“The chamber has been good to Park Ford and as I walk into any event it is easy to find reasons to support the chamber,” D’Andrea said. “I feel like the poster boy for getting value from the chamber each time we have an event. The members have been have really embraced the quality of personal service my team and I provide the community. I will always support the chamber and I feel strongly that without getting involved it is difficult to see the real potential returns.”
Founded in 1948, The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization of local business people working to benefit the Mahopac-Carmel area. There are almost 500 business members. The chamber holds monthly breakfast and dinner meetings as well as community events throughout the year such as the Mahopac Street Festival.
“The chamber is a wonderful tool to grow any business,” D’Andrea said. “The one piece of advice I would give to any new member is to attend every function possible and remember it starts and ends with a sincere warm handshake and friendly hello. The rest should follow.”
