In response to the ad “Radical Activists Are About to Ruin Summer BBQ Season,” presumably placed by industry lobbyists, the bill referenced the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act, introduced by state Sen. Peter Harckham and Assemblywoman Glick. It will actually save the packaging industry money, provide little reason to raise prices, save municipalities money, and, most important of all, protect the health of all of us by reducing the multiple endocrine-disrupting chemicals in plastics.

It should not be watered down as industry is attempting to do. The bill has the votes in both the Senate and Assembly. Call Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins at 518- 455-2715 to insist that she bring it to a vote this session.
