Good morning! Today is Thursday, January 6, and you are reading today’s section of Examiner+, a digital newsmagazine serving Westchester, Putnam, and the surrounding Hudson Valley.
Nancy’s Picks: This week’s three best bets
1. Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center
A visit to the Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center is the ideal way to be introduced to the artist Edward Hopper (1882-1967), or to immerse oneself in his legacy. The current exhibit focuses on his muse, his wife Josephine Nivison Hopper, and their years of painting together. There is also a research center, artist in residence program, regional and local history as seen through the Hopper family’s life in Nyack, and self-guided tours of the House and the community. Friday, 1-5 pm, Saturday, 12-5 pm, and Sunday, 12-5 pm. Adults: $10, Seniors: $8, and students 13 years & older: $6

2. Virtual Lecture: Sermons in Stone, Putnam History Museum
Putnam History Museum presents a virtual lecture, Sermons in Stone, a discussion and exploration of the stone walls of New York and New England by Susan Allport. We often take for granted the meandering stone walls we regularly see around the countryside, rarely thinking of their provenance. This discussion will clarify their role in history and provide an understanding of what was occurring socially and demographically when they were built in the nineteenth century. This event is virtual as the Museum is closed until April. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased through Eventbrite.

Doering by bringing his personal collection to life for all to enjoy, Motorcyclepedia is home to the world’s only Indian Motorcycle TimeLine. No surprise as Jerry famously raced Indians in the 1940s, his collection also includes Harley-Davidsons, Choppers, celebrity galleries, interactive displays, educational programming, and a fun, imaginative, ride through time for all visitors. Admission: Adults, $15, Seniors 65+, $12, Veterans with ID, $12, Students 12-18, $10, Youth 7-11, $5, Children under 7, Free
