Office for the Aging Seeking Volunteers for Tax Program

The Putnam County Office for the Aging is looking for volunteers to help the county’s senior citizens complete their 1040 forms.
Volunteers are trained in cooperation with the IRS and AARP and help counsel seniors at the Office for the Aging in Carmel as well as at Mahopac and Putnam Valley locations. Those interested in volunteering and able to work January through April can contact Mary White at (845) 808-1734. The program, called the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program, is sponsored by the Putnam County Office for the Aging, AARP and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
