New Castle Approves More NWH Parking at Chap Crossing
Northern Westchester Hospital will have more parking at Chappaqua Crossing.
The New Castle Town Board unanimously approved the town’s request last week to allow the hospital 140 additional spots at the site, an increase from 250 to 390. The hospital is using the site for additional parking because of extensive renovations at the hospital, including the construction of a parking garage. Hospital employees who park at Chappaqua Crossing are transported to the hospital via a shuttle. The agreement is in place until February 2014.
The plan had been recommended for approval by the New Castle Planning Board. Vans are banned from leaving the site from midnight to 5 a.m. to minimize impact on the neighborhood.
“We need to have a place for employees to park other than Northern Westchester Hospital,” P. Daniel Hollis, an attorney for the hospital said. “The staggering of parking will ameliorate the situation.”
