Mt. Kisco Planning Board Okays Car Dealership Expansion
The Mount Kisco Planning Board has unanimously approved a plan to expand the Arroway Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership.
The car dealership, located at 175 N. Bedford Rd., received amended site plan approval and a wetlands permit from the planning board on April 10 to expand its business by 3,000 square feet and enclose the open-air roof.
Approval included a demand from Planning Board Chairman Joseph Cosentino to prohibit parking in the car delivery area. That was included after the village this winter cracked down on car dealerships loading and unloading vehicles on North Bedford Road, which had been adding congestion on the busy state route.
Other car dealerships located on North Bedford Road have caused traffic tie-ups because of illegal parking.
“We don’t want it to happen here,” Cosentino said.
Among the conditions are provisions to stripe the delivery area and to install no parking signs on either side of that area, he said. Scott Blakely, the project’s landscape architect, said his client would install four “No Parking” signs.
