Mount Kisco Library to Reopen
The Mount Kisco Library will reopen tomorrow.
“We apologize for any inconvenience to our library patrons for the closure of the Mount Kisco Public Library” library director Susan Riley said in an email blast. “The Library will resume operations on Friday, January 28, but due to ongoing repairs, the children’s and teen rooms will be temporarily inaccessible.
Faced with its second water problem in less than a week, the Mount Kisco Library was closed yesterday.
It was announced at Monday’s village board of trustees meeting that the children’s department on the left side of the first floor received damage when a sprinkler malfunctioned and went off.
Village Manger James Palmer said the library was closed due to “water damage” from another leak unrelated to what occurred on Sunday.
Though there was no book damage caused by the two incidents, the children’s department will be closed for the immediate future because some sheetrock and baseboards will need to be replaced, Palmer said.
While work is being done on the children’s department, the library could open the right side of the first floor and the entire second floor in the near future, Palmer said.
