Most Issues Won’t Matter if We Don’t Find Solutions to Climate Crisis

As a multi-issue voter, I believe that the Democrats provide the best solutions for most of the concerns facing our country. However, for many decades, my primary filter is the environment and the damage that is occurring to our shared planet. The explanation lies in generational impacts.
Very real, everyday issues like kitchen table economics, threats to individual rights and violence here and abroad won’t matter if the very real-time climate threats to our world are not addressed and dealt with sooner than later.
Care of our Earth is the paramount existential threat facing all of humanity; the issues above won’t matter if we don’t get this right. As the Iroquois credo goes – the actions we make today should result in a better world seven generations from now.
The Republicans, from Lawler to Trump, are still caught up in climate denialism (So 10 years ago!) and actively promote ideas that will roll back any recent progress made. Proven solutions are available and happening despite the general lack of political will.
For this reason (and all the others), a vote for the Democratic ticket is so much more than a vote for one person. It is a commitment to oneself, one’s family and community and our incredible planet.
