Mary Rose Green died on Apr. 19 surrounded by her family. She was 64.
Mary Rose was born on June 24, 1959, in the Bronx, but moved as an infant and spent her life on 48th Street in Astoria.
She is survived by her loving mother, Beatrice, and her five sisters, Frances Savona (Robert), Eileen Doyle (Colm), Kathleen Lenhardt (Frank), Patricia Manchisi (Frank) and Dorothy Tagarelli (Danny). She was predeceased by her father, John, her niece, Amy, and her nephew, Peter. In addition, Mary is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mary Rose was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She treasured life’s simplest joys, especially old movies and music. She loved celebrating every birthday and special occasion with family and friends and never forgot a special date or memory.
Visitation was Apr. 21 at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Apr. 22 at Holy Innocents Church in Pleasantville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
