Mahopac Library Setting up Shop on Bikeway
We know your life is busy and you can’t always get to the library. So our staff members are leaving the library to meet you while you’re on the move!
During the week of September 12, we will be setting up a table at four different locations on the Putnam County Trailway in Mahopac. Our colorful t-shirts will identify us as Mahopac Library staff members; we will show you how to download adult and children’s digital books and magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, and music CDs to your phone or tablet without ever having to step into the Library. All you need is a library card and an Internet connection. You can listen to a new book or your favorite band while jogging, walking the dog, or biking up to Brewster, or you can view a movie on the plane or the train.
Here’s where you will find us on the Bike Path:
• Monday, September 12 – Mud Pond Road (near Croton Falls Road)
• Wednesday, September 14 – on Buckshollow Road (near Kennicut Hill Rd & Route 6)
• Thursday, September 15 – on Buckshollow Road at Union Valley Road
• Friday, September 16 – Mt. Hope Road and Route 6 (across the street from the Library).
We will be at each location (weather permitting) from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., and again from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Please stop by and say hello – we’ll have water bottles, dog biscuits and friendly smiles to greet you. If you don’t have a library card yet we will issue a temporary card so you can start enjoying our digital resources (card for you, biscuit for Spot!).
This project is part of a nationwide initiative called “Outside the Lines – LibrariesReintroduced”whichisdesigned to get people talking about libraries in a different way. For details visit http://www. getoutsidethelines.org/ (#getOTL).
