Local Children Invited to Kid’s Day at Putnam Hospital Center
Looking for something to do with the kids that both they and you will enjoy? Then take them to Kids’ Day at PHC from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th, when the Putnam Hospital Center Auxiliary presents its Seventh Annual Kids’ Day at PHC, sponsored by Somers Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Group.
The event, which will include hands-on demonstrations and displays, will be held primarily within the new Camarda Care Center at Putnam Hospital Center and will lead outdoors to a tented area for “Small World” games and inflatable bouncy attractions sponsored by Camp Kiwi. The Hudson Valley Renegades, will have a blow-up batting cage. Interactive health and safety exhibits and demonstrations will be interspersed with kids’ crafts, games and children-themed vendors; food will be available for purchase. Dr. Bear, the Renegades mascot, and other characters, will be on hand for the day, as well as various entertainment.
There will be a teddy bear clinic sponsored by Mount Kisco Medical Group, finger casting, a bloodhound unit, child identification program, heart monitoring, proper car seat safety instruction, healthy eating and portion distortion demonstrations, safety information, poison education, helmet safety, wellness and nutrition, fire truck and fire safety and informational displays on children’s mental health, sleep, dental health, posture, asthma and tobacco education, among others. There will also be face painting, balloon animals, an auction of kids’ baskets of treasure, and raffles.
