Kensington Partners With White Plains Hospital
The Kensington, a new enhanced assisted living and memory care residence in downtown White Plains, has announced a partnership with White Plains Hospital to provide training and education for its staff in the caring of residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Provided by the Hospital’s Senior Services Department, the Partnerships in Dementia program seeks to educate professional caregivers on best practices, enabling them to consistently provide enriching, engaging and purposeful care for the person diagnosed while reducing the challenges for themselves.
In addition, The Kensington has announced that Raj Buddhavarapu, MD, Director of Geriatrics and Palliative Care for White Plains Hospital, will provide geriatric care services for its residents.

The Kensington’s Memory Care program provides care in two specially designed “neighborhoods” which are ideal for those with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. The Connections Neighborhood is for those with early- to-mid-stage memory loss while the Haven Neighborhood is designed for those with mid-to late-stage loss and is secured to enhance safety. The Kensington is the only assisted living facility in the county to offer two separate floors for memory care. It is also one of the few assisted living facilities in the area with an enhanced license from the state which allows it to provide skilled nursing care on site 24/7.
Located at 100 Maple Avenue just one block from White Plains Hospital, The Kensington features 87 attractively designed suites with a wealth of amenities and services in an elegant and comfortable setting.
