Julianne Marino of Thornwood, beloved wife, mother of two and grandmother of four, passed away at the age of 78 on Oct. 15.

Born in Brooklyn on Jan. 15, 1946, Julie was the third and youngest child of Joseph and Julia (Cardello) Giordano. For Julie, family was everything. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Anthony Marino, creating a strong, supportive and enduring partnership of 57 years that was the foundation of her life. Julie was blessed with a beautiful smile, a big heart and an abundance of kindness and compassion – blessings that always drew people to her, filling her life with joy, family and good friends.

With her beloved husband, she lovingly raised, nurtured and supported her two daughters, attending school concerts, dance recitals and what was undoubtedly her favorite, the many musical theater performances that they were in. When her children were older, she worked as an executive assistant, and later, enjoyed a career in real estate. She also offered her time to charity, including the Pleasantville food pantry.

Julie was over the moon with the birth of each of her four cherished grandchildren with whom she was able to spend many hours with. When they were young, she enjoyed every minute of doing crafts, playing games, reading books and making her famous dinosaur-shaped pancakes. She loved watching them grow and achieve, listening to their stories and spoiling them like only a grandmother could.

Julie loved to laugh, dance, travel, cook, visit with friends and family, and, most of all, chat with people. She was known by family members and friends as being caring and sincere – displaying grace throughout her life and any challenges she faced.

She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony; her daughters, Deborah Anttila (and husband Eric) and Michele Dilcer (and husband Samuel); and her four grandchildren, John and Caitlin Anttila and Matthew and Ryan Dilcer. Julie leaves a lasting and warm impression on all that knew her.

The family opted to have a private memorial.
