All politicians put a premium on charming their constituents – both through media or personal contacts. Recently, in a one-on-one conversation with 17th Congressional District candidate Mike Lawler, I found him personable and sounding quite reasonable.
But when meeting with constituents, he dodged questions that reflect his support for extreme MAGA positions and politicians. His purported cross-the-aisle legislative work actually serves as a cover for his real votes for a regressive economic and social agenda.
In contrast, Mondaire Jones actually voted for measures that ensured this country’s emergence from an all-but-certain recession and set the stage for the strongest economic performance of any country today. A vote for Mondaire Jones can help a Democratic House to move this country forward, not backward.
