Jenkins to Announce Candidacy for Westchester County Executive Race
There has been a watch for several months to see if current Westchester County Board of Legislators Chair Ken Jenkins (D-Yonkers) will officially throw his hat into the ring to run for county executive.
Media reports on Sunday say an email has been circulating stating his intention to make a formal announcement about his candidacy on Wednesday.
Legislator Bill Ryan (D-White Plains) was the first to announce his intention to run for the executive’s position, followed by New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, setting the stage for a Democratic primary that will decide who will challenge Rob Astorino in this year’s election.
