International Distribution Business Project Approved in Mount Kisco

An international distribution company is coming to Mount Kisco.

A proposal for a facility that will distribute natural stone, quartz and recycling surfacing products for walls, kitchen and bathroom countertops and other uses in the Diamond Properties building at 333 N. Bedford Rd.was approved by the planning board on May 8.

Cosentino Center is a company headquartered in Spainband it has 50 showrooms in the United States.

Planning board Chairman Joseph Cosentino was the only member not to vote for the project. He joked that he was recusing himself from voting because he did not want anyone to think he was connected with the project because the name of the business and his last name are the same.

The Cosentino Center will utilize 31,455 square feet of the mixed use building called The Park. It will consist of about 25,618 square feet of warehouse space and about 5,837 square feet of office and showroom space.

The property is located in the Light Manufacturing zoning district.

The business will be geared toward construction contractors, not the general public, representatives of the developer have told the planning board.

During the May 8 meeting, Village Attorney Whitney Singleton asked Michael Gallin, the project’s architect, where trucks would make deliveries at the site. The deliveries would be made “inside the building,” Gallin said.

At a previous Gallin told the planning board the project would have little impact on the area and would generate only a few truck trips to the site every week. Truck deliveries would be made between four to five days a week.

Jim Diamond, the CEO of Diamond Properties, said previously with the approval of the Cosentino Center only one 17,000 square foot portion of  The Park would be left for development. The space has yet been rented, he said.

No date for the start of construction has been announced.
