Integrity and Leadership in Marron is What Yorktown Needs
I’m delighted to pledge my support for Tom Marron for town councilman.
As our town has suffered from the lack of transparency and cronyism demonstrated in recent events, we need a champion of transparency and honesty like Tom and the New Day for Yorktown slate to return our local government to an ethical, inclusive group of representatives that are there to serve and listen to all residents.
We first met Tom when our then-six-year-old son joined Cub Scouts. In his role as assistant cub master, Tom demonstrated true leadership and a commitment to serving his community. He is patient, kind and committed to serving his constituents. He is fair and ethical and will provide the transparency that all of us as taxpayers are entitled to.
Tom is also committed to conserving what makes Yorktown a beautiful place to live. My husband and I moved to Yorktown 18 years ago for the abundance of beautiful open spaces and charming historic structures. These picturesque spaces in our town are being threatened by aggressive development, while many of our existing commercial real estate remains vacant and in disrepair.
If we really want to make Yorktown a destination, we should beautify what we have and curb this new construction. Tom is committed to preserving Yorktown’s beauty, which ultimately will attract new businesses and residents. This, in turn, will grow our tax revenue without increasing rates.
This year’s Yorktown Town Board elections on Nov. 7 will be highly consequential for its residents. I have always believed while state and federal laws certainly shape our lives as New Yorkers and Americans, it is our local elections that have the most impact on our day-to-day lives. Let’s vote in a new day for Yorktown.
