Indoor Cycling Studio Offers Unique Boutique Fitness Experience in Jefferson Valley
Looking for a breath of fresh air? Look no further than Jefferson Valley’s newest and only boutique fitness studio, Cycle-6. In terms of difficulty, convenience and design, the indoor cycling studio rivals that of more national brands like Soul Cycle and Flywheel, which are primarily found in major cities. Co-owners and fitness enthusiasts, Alina Pedraza and Trevor Dennin, noticed the lack of boutique fitness options in Northern Westchester, which offers members a more intimate experience than classes found in a local gym.
“When you come here, you will feel like family,” Dennin said. “We believe we have the best instructors around.”
Dennin is a Peekskill High School graduate, and Pedraza, a Lakeland High School graduate, both felt they had a good understanding of the fitness needs of the community. Both have always had a passion for athletics and fitness, playing high school and college sports, and later teaching and training Cross Fit.
After much deliberation about opening up a fitness studio together, both jumped at the opportunity to open Cycle-6 when they found the ideal location at 3631 Hill Boulevard in Jefferson Valley (across from the Jefferson Valley Mall), which officially opened in February. While primarily serving as a cycling studio, Cycle-6 also offers High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) classes, as well Barre and Yoga classes. The cycling classes are capped at 18 riders maximum, which offers the benefits of a low impact, high calorie burning, cardiovascular workout in a small group setting. A Cycle-6 rider can also monitor their heart rate and customized ride statistics with a performance metric system shown on screens mounted on the walls. The studio goes one step further and even emails the personalized ride statistics post ride to encourage monitoring progress over time.
“It keeps you goal-oriented and focused!” said Pedraza, when explaining the rationale behind the performance metric system.
“We really stress mixing it up,” explained Dennin, who believes that is the key to fitness success and long-term results. Both also stressed that their equipment also sets them apart from the average gym fitness class as they splurged on top of the line bike models, which they maintain well because of their small class sizes. The studio employs all local and certified instructors, with Pedraza and Dennin teaching classes, as well. Special events are frequently held in partnership with other local businesses, like most recently a healthy home meal delivery services and private rides can be schedule for birthdays or other occasions.
Other amenities and highlights include: fresh towels with every class, water stations, spacious storage, inspiration boards, and custom music and lighting to amplify the cycle experience. Cycle 6 shirts and gear are also sold at the studio, along with spin shoes special made for stationary cycle bikes, for the enthusiast who would like to take their ride to the next level.
Cycle-6 offers an introductory offer to all new riders at a low-rate of five classes for $50. With most New York City classes costing a minimum of $35 a class, these prices offered for boutique fitness are not commonly found. Larger packages are available for those who want to attend classes more regularly, with single drop-in classes for those with a more varied schedule. Pedraza said special packages would also soon be available to help reach the infamous New Year’s resolution fitness goals.
The studio is only open during scheduled class times listed on the user-friendly Cycle-6 website. Classes can be bought and scheduled conveniently online and the email address info@cycle-6.com is answered quickly and efficiently by Pedraza herself. For more information, visit www.cycle-6.com or call 914-302-6027 during studio hours.
