Hudson Valley Hospital Center to Honor Combat Vet
Local doctor, Navy flight surgeon and former director of Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Emergency Department, John A. McGurty, MD, will be honored Monday, March 7 at noon with the dedication of a new hospital conference room in his name.
Dr. McGurty, HVHC’s director of emergency medicine from 1996 to 2003, has served tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a U.S. Navy reservist and Medical Corps Captain.
He returns overseas later this month for his third military deployment in recent years.
A ceremony will be held and a plaque will be unveiled by Hudson Valley Hospital Center ’s president, John Federspiel.
