On a recent Saturday morning I discovered that a second Mondaire Jones sign was taken from my front yard. Our brilliant and hardworking assemblywoman, Dana Levenberg, was accused of taking “shekels” by her opponent, Michael Capalbo, at a League of Women Voters forum on Oct. 7. A friend’s car was keyed all across the back, starting at her Harris-Walz sticker. This behavior is just the tip of the iceberg of what we can expect from a Trump-Vance administration.

Should I be afraid to write this letter? Indeed, I am. This election will decide our future. Will we be safe from tyranny, or not?

It couldn’t be more important to put country over party and vote the straight Democratic ticket, even if for the first and only time in your life.

Democracy and civil society are at risk.
