Mahopac logoThe Mahopac School District released a statement today that its Green House principal at the high school is returning from administrative reassignment as of Monday, April 8.

The Green House principal, Troy Bilyeu, was placed on administrative reassignment on Dec. 7 after the district decided to do an internal investigation on an allegation that was never made public.

“The district has conducted a thorough investigation of confidential staff-related personnel matters that arose regarding Mr. Bilyeu, as well as third party allegations and rumors about Mr. Bilyeu and female students that were brought to the attention of the district,” said Superintendent Thomas Manko in a statement. “Mr. Bilyeu has told the district that he understood the need for the investigation and the district’s position that rumors regarding students need to be handled thoroughly to protect public confidence in our schools.  Due to the extent of the rumors in social media, please know that the district’s investigation found no substantiation of potentially criminal conduct toward female students by Mr. Bilyeu.

“The District has taken what it believes to be appropriate action under the circumstances and will continue to monitor any and all concerns involving any staff members that come to its attention.”

Bilyeu, a 42-year-old resident of Mahopac, was hired by the district in 1997. His annual salary as of June 2011 was at least $148,233.50.
