Gertrude immigrated to New York City in 1958, married Gerhard in 1959 and worked at Chase Manhattan Bank in Pleasantville for many years. She enjoyed volunteering with the Pleasantville Garden Club, the Hearts and Hands Knitting Group in Pleasantville, and she was a parishioner at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne.
