Foul Play Ruled Out in Death of Man Found in Car in Yorktown
Yorktown police have ruled out foul play in the death of a 26-year-old Massachusetts man found in a vehicle Friday morning on Old Croton Lake Road near the Croton watershed.
The unidentified man was first discovered by an employee with the New York Department of Environmental Protection shortly before 11 a.m. in the driver’s seat of a sport utility vehicle with Massachusetts license plates.
Police considered the death suspicious at the time but on Monday concluded after a preliminary investigation that no foul play was involved. Police were assisted in their investigation by the DEP and Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The man’s next of kin have been notified and an investigation is continuing, according to Yorktown Police Lieutenant Kevin Soravilla.
