Everyday Heroes Celebrated at Hudson Valley Hospital
A dozen employees at Hudson Valley Hospital Center were recognized last week as everyday heroes by their peers.
Hospital officials unveiled the eighth annual Wall of Heroes at a ceremony in the lobby of the medical facility in Cortlandt. Portraits of the employees will hang in the front corridor for the next year.
“This is one of my favorite days of the year,” said hospital President John Federspiel. “The dedication and commitment of all our heroes is just extraordinary. To be recognized by your peers is just extraordinary.”
This year, 12 workers from 11 departments were honored. The employees selected are nominated by coworkers.
“Over the years I have learned so much about the special people I work with at the hospital,” said Susan Sheehy, captain of the reward and recognition team. “It’s really wonderful to see them receive this recognition for their work.”
Honored this year were Connie Dias, RN, BSN 4 South Nursing Unit; Joseph Barletti, Pharm. D., R.PH., Pharmacy; Carol Morales, PCT, Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine; Susan Jackson, Finance/mailroom; Kevin Roth, RN, BSN, ONC, 3 South Nursing Unit; Margaret Tetro, Receiving & Storeroom; Eileen Neary, Administration/Volunteer Services; Anna Apostol, RN, BSN, Ambulatory Surgery; Kimberly A. Ritter, Admitting/Lab Registration; Mayuri Patel, MT, Laboratory; Annarose Curley, MS, R.Ph., Pharmacy; and Ashley Martin, Patient Accounting.
“Providing compassionate care, love and peace to every patient as they heal is my #1 priority,” Dias said.
