Too Close to Call in Nonna, Smith Westchester Leg. Race
It is too close to call in District 3.
With 87 percent of the votes counted, County Legislator John Nonna (D-Pleasantville) leads challenger Michael Smith by a mere 60 votes, 4,347-4287.
A recount is expected in the race thatcould determine whether the Democrats hang on to their 12-5 supermajority in the legislature.
Nonna, who previously served as Mayor of Pleasantville, is going for his 3rd term. Smith previously served as President of the Valhalla Board of Education.
District 3 covers Pleasantville, North Castle, Mount Pleasant and portions of Greenburgh.
