A Mahopac man arrested for allegedly selling drugs was found with $20,000 in drugs including heroin as well as several unregistered weapons in his home, Carmel police said.
Thomas Scovotti, 23, was arrested at around 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday on more than 30 charges, including three felonies, relating to drug possession and sales.
Police recovered approximately 1,100 pills, including Xanax and Oxycodone, one half ounce of cocaine, one half ounce of MDMA (commonly called Molly) crystal, 20 decks of heroin, one-and-a-half pounds of marijuana and $2,500 in cash, Carmel police announced in a press release. The street value of these drugs is approximately $20,000, according to the police.
Police said they also recovered several grams of MDMA mixed with heroin. Scovotti would allegedly sell the mix as MDMA, but the heroin would make it more addictive and make customers more likely to return for more, police stated.
Scovotti was remanded to the Putnam County Jail.
