Business Profile: Dr. Paul Kastuk, Chiropractor and Wellness Consultant, Putnam Valley
Having been born and raised in Putnam Valley, Dr. Paul Kastuk said when he decided to open a chiropractic and wellness center, he couldn’t have imagined doing it anywhere else.
“It was a no-brainer,” Dr. Kastuk said of opening the doors to his offices 25 years ago. “It has been an honor and a blessing to be able to contribute to the health needs of the community that not only is where I was raised, but it’s where I raised my three children.”
Dr. Kastuk operates the practice working side-by-side with his wife Julie.
“There is no one I would rather work with than her. We are a great team,” he said.
Rooted in community and family, Dr. Katsuk the longevity of the relationships he has had with many of his clients adds to the level of care he provides.
“I care for my patients as I would for my own family. I still do house calls,” he said. “I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and one of the ways I serve God is by serving, helping and loving the folks who come through my office door. We will never turn anyone away who desires our care.”
Dr. Kastuk said that the concept of wellness care centers around the belief that all health problems have four causes: trauma, stress, toxicity and poor lifestyle.
Dr. Kastuk said he works with clients to address these problems by using special naturalized approaches that remove the effects of damage to the nervous system, improves the function of adrenal glands and remove the toxins from the body to help create an overall better lifestyle.
“Over 25 years there have been many wonderful stories of healing ranging from colicky babies, children with allergies, teenagers with sports injuries to adults with fibromyalgia, who have been able to come off of or reduce their medications as a result of the care they received,” Dr. Kastuk said.
Both in his brochure and on a poster that hangs in the waiting room, Dr. Kastuk highlights a famous quote from Thomas Edison that pertains to the philosophy of his chiropractic and wellness center.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease,” it reads.
Dr. Kastuk said one misconception is that he “cracks backs,” when in fact he said he uses a very gentle technique that requires less than 4 ounces of force to accomplish spinal and neurological integrity.
“I think, in general, people think that chiropractic is for sore backs, when in reality, it is at the center of the wellness concept because it improves the function of the nervous system, which controls the entire body,” Dr. Kastuk said. “Chiropractic is concerned with the integrity and the proper function of the nervous system. Combining this with nutritional support, detoxification, and lifestyle modification, including exercise, diet and mindset, improves the lives of our patients.”
Dr. Kastuk invites the community to find him on Facebook, by searching for “Dr. Kastuk.”
