Business Profile: Chalet on the Hudson
The majestic views overlooking the Hudson River are a favorite backdrop for many who want to celebrate a special occasion in the region. The new owners of the Chalet on the Hudson in Cold Spring have brought mouth-watering food and a stellar staff to the already notable facility to help re-establish itself as a premiere place to host an affair in Putnam.
Frank DeBari, Sr., owner of Inn Credible Caterers in Rockland, and his family recently took over the Cold Spring banquet hall that is located at 3250 Route 9D, and DeBari admits the views of Storm King Mountain and Breakneck Ridge made it easy for him to make the investment.
“The Hudson Valley is a breathtaking region, making it the perfect event and wedding site,” said DeBari. “We selected Chalet on the Hudson as one of our facilities because its spectacular views set the stage for a grand celebration and provide for fabulous photo opportunities.”
To complement the surrounding natural beauty, the facility is currently undergoing renovations to its ballroom and outdoor space, which are set to be complete this year. The new outdoor garden, which features a waterfall and pond, paved courtyard, floral gardens and an elevated patio, is expected to be ready by the summer.
“We are currently remodeling to make Chalet even more inviting – new crystal chandeliers, window treatments and paint design; accent up-lighting in the ballroom; and an enveloping outdoor ceremony garden,” said DeBari. “The setting, combined with renowned Inn Credible Caterers cuisine and service, creates an affair to remember.”
Inn Credible Caterers, Ltd, was established in May 1989 by DeBari. Before establishing this company, he was general manager of the Bear Mountain Inn. DeBari is now joined by his son, Frank, Jr., his wife Trish DeBari, award-winning executive chefs Ed Monahan and Steve Schultz, and a team of other service professionals.
“Our team has years of practical, hands-on experience in all facets of the hospitality industry,” said DeBari. “We are bringing that knowledge to Chalet on Hudson.”
Since Chalet is a quaint and intimate facility, only one affair at a time is held. It can hold any kind of event or affair from wedding receptions and bar mitzvahs to sweet sixteen and corporate affairs.
While specializing in catering, DeBari considers his company an event planning organization too.
“With over 23 years of experience and approximately 15,000 successful functions on our resume, we have the contacts and the know-how to make your event a success, from start to finish,” he said. Each function at Chalet is offered the services of a personal event planner.
One of the unique offerings at Chalet on Hudson is an “A La Carte Wedding.” It allows someone to create his or her own wedding package and price – each drink and menu option is separately priced rather than rolled into a package.
“This allows you to select something that best meets your tastes and budget,” said DeBari.
Chalet on Hudson will host a brunch buffet on Mother’s Day with two seating times, at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., so the public can see and taste for themselves the changes made at the facility.
