Business Profile: Briante Realty Group, Carmel
Growing year-to-year, Angela Briante’s real estate business, Briante Realty Group, has proven to be a trusted resource for homebuyers and sellers.
Armed with 16 agents, including Briante, Briante Realty has become a trademark name in Putnam County and throughout the region. Working on both the residential and commercial side of real estate, each agent has their own niche they’re really good at, Briante said. Her business covers Putnam, Westchester, and Dutchess counties, as well as Connecticut. To mark how far she’s come, the real estate group moved into a new spot along Fair Street last month.
While Briante moved into her new digs last month, she has been in business for six years.
Briante didn’t start out in real estate. She used to be part of cooperate America, working for an international conglomerate and traveling at least a couple times each week. She’d take trips to South America and other states, leaving little time for a family life.
Finally when her daughter turned three-years-old, Briante turned to real estate because it would give her more time with her upstart family while still having a career.
“I wanted something flexible,” Briante, who worked part-time back then, said.
After working for a bigger company for six years, she decided to pursue her own real estate firm. Impressively, the agency relies solely on referrals for new clients and new homes to sell. They don’t use websites like Zillow to get leads, which they would have to pay for each month.
“I have a grateful heart because I feel like it’s bigger than me in a lot of ways,” Briante said. “We’re growing, I have an incredible team around me. We all love what we do.”
While many real estate companies are big organizations, Briante loves being small and on her own, instead of dealing with a long chain of command. It allows her realty group to be creative and make decisions instantly.
For instance, when the group sold a historical home, the agents all dressed up in colonial clothing and served food from the era. The realty group also reached out to historians that might be interested in the event.
“We just had fun with it,” she said. “We can think of ideas and just do it on a whim.”
Briante said she tells other agents that when they’re buying a home, pretend they’re buying it for a son or daughter and really be an advocate for each client.
“Who you’re representing, you really have to take them seriously,” Briante said.
Going forward, Briante said the realty group has a lot of big plans they haven’t publicly divulged yet, but even six years into her successful business, Briante vows, “It’s just the beginning.”
Briante Realty Group is located at 16 Fair Street in Carmel and its phone number is 845-225-2020.
