Brett Dennen to Headline Ninth Annual P’ville Music Festival
Celebrated artist Brett Dennen, known for hits such as “Darlin’ Do Not Fear” and “She’s Mine,” will headline the ninth annual Pleasantville Music Festival scheduled for Saturday, July 13 at Parkway Field.
The event will run from 12 to 8:30 p.m. bringing together nationally recognized musicians and emerging regional acts to one of the most culture-rich villages in the New York suburbs.
“From the start, we have been blessed to attract top national acts and, in turn, energetic crowds of music lovers from Westchester, New York City, Fairfield, Rockland and beyond,” said Rich Sarfaty, co-executive producer of the festival.
Along with Dennen, this year’s festival will also feature The Easy All-Stars, Red Wanting Blue, Delta Rae, The Jason Spooner Band, Mary C. & The Stellars, Bobby Long and Mishti. These acts and more will perform on the two main stages, while non-musical variety acts suitable for all ages will perform on the Village Stage that will be located alongside the vendor area.
“Our festival is a community event that is 100 percent organized and produced by local residents and volunteers,” said Sol Skolnick, co-executive producer of the Festival. “Once again a strong group of local restaurants, artisans, charitable organizations and retailers will be on site, including Captain Lawrence Brewery, The Art of Wine and Gail Patrick’s Cafe.”
This year’s charitable partner is Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD).
Since its inception nine years ago, The Pleasantville Music Festival has featured performers such as Jakob Dylan, The English Beat, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Rusted Root, Marc Cohn, Joan Osborne, The Bacon Brothers, Sonny Landreth, World Party, Roger McGuinn, Dar Williams, Scars on 45, Graham Parker, Augustana, Jonatha Brooke and Shawn Mullins.
This year’s festival is presented by 107.1 FM, (WXPK) The Peak, the popular Westchester-based radio station and Westchester Medical Center. Last year, the event drew about 7,000 people of all ages. A family-friendly event, the festival offers many non-musical activities including games, face-painting and kid-friendly entertainment.
